your life is waiting for you to choose it

i want my life to be a small light. every day i scratch around in my pockets for scraps, for choices to unfold. how the most ordinary thing might become a ritual that holds me in the stillness. my morning tea. the sound of my boy’s sleep-soft voice as he wakes up. the feel of the warm water on my face. there is beauty in this. the choosing of my own life as it is right now, but also the window open wide so i might throw the tiny seeds of what i hope for, far out into the waiting world. the thank you that falls from my mouth. the rebellious blooming.
