Anti-Bullying Week 2020.

‘you are odd socks on odd feet

soft heart, you are complete

be all of you and none of them

you are enough.’

Monday, the 16th of November, until Friday, the 20th of November, is Anti-Bullying Week in the UK.

The theme for this year is, United Against Bullying.

The week started off with #oddsocksday and this is my contribution to highlight that each one of us is unique and beautiful in our oddness.

As a child and teenager, I experienced merciless bullying at school, culminating in a hospital stay when I was about 14 because I just had no words, no idea how to explain what was happening to me at school.

Whilst the Anti-Bullying campaign is aimed mostly at schools, bullying happens everywhere and to people of all ages.

If you see someone being bullied, whether in real life, or online, speak up and speak out. A dear therapist friend of mine once told me that she doesn’t engage with the trolls, she engages with the one being targeted, and I have found her advice beautiful and wise.

Speak up.

Speak out.

Reach out.

Be a friend.

Much love,
