a note on freedom

This is for you who feels like a failure.

A freedom song doesn’t just burst out of your mouth—a nightingale, fully shaped and willing.

It has to claw its way out of the soft cocoon of your chest, a groan at first.

A quiet lament.

Give yourself time.
