listen, it’s your heart that matters.

it is the small church from which everything comes and goes. bring whatever sacrifices you like, but the story goes that God stops off there first, knocks on that door first, hoping you’ll let Him in, hoping you’ll offer Him a cup of water, hoping you’ll have a hundred small stories to tell of how your enemy shaped their hatred for you into an altar of their own, and you, because your mouth was full of heaven, sang a love song over it.

listen, bring whatever sacrifices you like, it’s your heart, undressed before God, that matters.

that’s where it all ends, and where it all begins again.
